Photo Journal #8

Favorite faculty member
For this journal we had to take a photo of a favorite faculty member and I chose to take one of my advisor, Mr. Cyr. I took this photo with my iPhone and changed it to a black and white because I like the way portraits look as black and whites.

Photo Journal #6

This photo was taken with my iPhone of water droplets on a surface that got rained on. I think this photo is interesting and if you didn't know what it was it kind of could look abstract.

Dark Art Transformation

Camera Settings
ISO: 100
f/4.0
1/200
This photo i did in the studio with beauty lighting. In photoshop i gave her black eyes, added black underneath to make it creepier, and then i added a layer over her lips that was of cracked dried mud. I really like how the background is so black and dark and the only thing that stands out is her face and some of her hair.

Floating Person

Camera Settings
ISO: 320
f/5.6
1/10

For this photo i had my model resting on a stool and i erased it in photoshop so she was floating. Then i went in with a smoke brush and added fog to give it more of a dreamy feel. Im pretty happy with the way this photo came out, i just wish the outside, through the doors wasn't so bright.

Invisible Person

 Camera Settings
f/4.0
1/60
ISO: 200
I took this photo and brought it into photoshop and I made her hair longer and made it cover one of her eyes using the clone stamp tool, then i changed the color of her skin painting over it with a blush green brush with the opacity really low; this was to make her look dead. thenI changed the opacity of her to make her look like a ghost and so you could see right through her. The final thing was adding fog in photoshop so it gave it a spookier feel. I also played around with the dodge and burn tool a lot making it darker and lighter in some areas to add to the spookiness of this photo.

Photo Journal #5

Flare

This picture was taken with an iphone. This is of my ceiling light in my house. I took a couple pictures of this because i got a different result every time i did it. i like how there is a red circle that looks like its the light but a sunspot. I think the light spot really helps add to the flare photography.

Photo journal #4

Abstract

This photo was shot with an iphone and it was of a cup coaster. I liked the detail in it which i felt made it abstract. I think the lighting of the black background also helps to add to the abstractness of the photo.

Photo Journal #3

Cup out of Place

I shot this photo journal of the cup out of place with an iphone. i set the cup inside the washing machine because thats not where you would find a cup generally. i liked this idea, but I wish you could see more of the washing machine in it. i tried taking it from farther away but this one just looked better.

Digital Tones

ISO: 500
F/6.3
1/250
This picture i creates in bridge with raw and changed the tones. first converting it to black and white then made the highlights yellow and the shadows blue/purple.

ISO: 100
F/4.0
1/5
This photo was done in photoshop and i toned it just like the other but i used cooler colors. i think it was a lot easier to do in raw because i had more control of the variety of tones.
