Toning (film)

Film

Print

I printed out this picture, on a 16x10 and then cut it into 6 equal sized pieces. the top left corner i used red, and only left it in for a couple seconds so the hew wasn't that bright, i wanted it to be subtle. The top right corner i put in red for a little bit until i could just barely notice the red hues coming through, the i rinsed it and put it into the blue. This one is my favorite that i did. I really like how the red and blue shows up in it. The middle left i put in bleach to make things fade away, then i washed it, and then put it in toner and it brought all the detail back and created a sepia. The middle right i put in just the blue. I didn't like how blue it came out, so i experimented with this one and tried to take some of the color out and fade it by putting it into the bleach, then i put it into the toner to try and bring a little detail back. This didn't work so well, the bleach made it look really faded, and then the toner made it spotty looking, like someone spilt coffee on it. The bottom left was in yellow but the yellow didn't show up so then i put in in the blue. The bottom right is just red; the same as the top left just left in the color longer and made the hue much deeper.
